"Into the Valley II"

This is a recent 24x30" that I had been working on for quite a while. I shot a few progress shots along the way, but those images are still on my crashed computer, so I'll just post this as is. I made a few major compositional changes along the way.
Below this one I've posted two small paintings that I did of the scene in 2008 and links to where they first appeared on my blog if you are interested in reading what I wrote about when I painted them.

Beautiful work. I esp. like the rich color in the 24x30" piece.

Nicely done Frank. I love the bottom sketch. Very soft. Hope things are good in Mexico.

Frank--I remember liking this when I saw the earlier versions. This new one takes it the next several steps. I can't wait to see some of these vistas again and luxuriate in the wonderful aerial perspective you have down there!

Can't figure that out Dan. LOL
Thanks Diana, I was trying to make the colors a little richer and still keep the hot sun look.
Thanks Colin, everything is good here. Weather can't be beat these days.
Look forward to seeing you down here in the fall Jack. said...

Great natural pieces. The landscapes and that horse are all so pleasing to the eye.
