A Place to Rest

There are a lot of paintings spread around my studio right now.
Some are just sketched in and others are just about finished.
Some are looking good, others, not so good.

I think these two make a nice pair.
The colors are similar, and the shadows are an integral part of the design in both of paintings.
They both have a peaceful mood.

amazing there are so many crosses on the roof of the church!

They do make a great pair!! Lovely, calming, color in both.
I really like the texture in the light foreground with the pigeons.

these two are so interesting juxtaposed to the one in the post below, Assorted Provisions.

so beautiful. love the shadows in Sanctuario and the contrasts of all sorts in Place of Rest. so marvelous how they, such different paintings, both do convey peacefulness.
