Sept. 13th mini paintings - Bicentennial Collection

I still have a lot of work to finish in the next two weeks for my show in Charleston, plus, I started 30x40" yesterday that I hope to include in the show. It is inspired by one of these minis.
But, as promised, I have a few mini paintings from today to post.

The first is a view of San Miguel, early in the morning, when the sun is just starting to light up the buildings in the center of town. This was a really hard subject to fit onto a 5x7" board. It had me frustrated for a while, but I like how it ended up.

Unframed $110. USD + shipping
SOLD

I wanted to switch the subject matter up a little, so I painted this hen and chicks walking along a wall. The bougainvillea adds a little brightness in contrast of the subtle colors of the chicks against the wall.

Unframed $110. USD + shipping
SOLD

The last one for tonight is of a mariachi group playing in front of the church in the main square. The color is off a bit since the sun was going down when I photographed it. I'll switch this photo out for a better one tomorrow. I think the color in the painting is a little stronger and the green mariachi suits are a bit darker than it shows here in the pic. There was some cool reflection from the sky that I could not get rid of in the photo.

Great job on these minis! I like them all! I just love to paint these small paintings. I am glad to see you doing these! I just subscribed to the blog so I can view them all. Looks like you are having fun. Love the musicans and the view of the city. But all are great!
